View makesCar key help without the tow
Losing a key or locking it in the car at the beach can wreck a day. Because we are mobile, we come to the parking lot, driveway, or rental where you are stranded and handle the work on the spot, from cutting and programming a new key to opening a locked door without damage. There is no tow to a dealer and no long wait off the island.
Keys, fobs, and what your vehicle uses
Most vehicles on the island use one of a few key types. Older cars may use a basic cut key, many use a transponder key that talks to the immobilizer, and newer ones use a remote-head key or a push-to-start proximity fob. We make and program replacement car keys, handle lost car keys when no spare is left, and take care of key fob replacement and push-to-start fobs right at your location.
What we handle for vehicles
- Car lockouts with damage-free entry
- Lost car keys replaced and programmed on site
- Transponder and proximity key programming
- Smart and push-to-start fobs
- Spare keys so one lost key never strands you
- Ignition trouble and worn or sticking keys
Cutting and programming on site
Many jobs finish in a single visit. We cut the key to your vehicle and pair it to the immobilizer with our programming tools, then test it before we leave. If your vehicle needs key programming for an added spare or a replaced module, we can usually handle it without a dealer trip. You can see what we cover for your vehicle on our car keys by make pages.
Beach, sand, and heat
The coast is hard on keys. Sand works into a worn key blade, surf and pools claim fobs every summer, and heat can shorten a fob battery. We see all of it, so we can talk you through whether a battery, a new fob, or fresh programming is what your situation calls for.
We work with most popular makes and carry the blanks and tools to finish many jobs in one visit. If your vehicle needs a part we do not stock, we will tell you what is involved before any work begins. The smartest move of all is a programmed spare, which is far easier to arrange ahead of time than an all-keys-lost call at the beach.
Common questions
Can you make a key if I lost all of mine?
Often yes. For many vehicles we can generate and program a new key even when no working key remains, though some makes take extra time. Call us with your year, make, and model so we can confirm.
Do you program push-to-start fobs?
We do. We can supply and program proximity and push-to-start fobs for many makes right at your location.
Should I get a spare car key?
It is one of the smartest things you can do. A programmed spare is far easier to arrange in advance than an all-keys-lost situation at the beach.
My fob stopped working. Is it the battery?
Sometimes a dead battery is all it is, and other times the fob needs reprogramming or replacement. We can check the battery first and go from there.
Do I need to go to the dealer for programming?
Usually not. For many vehicles we can cut and program keys on site, so a dealer trip is not needed. We will tell you if your specific vehicle is an exception.
Can you come to me if I am locked out at the beach?
Yes. We are mobile, so we come to the parking lot, driveway, or rental where you are stranded anywhere on Tybee Island and the Savannah area.
